I am honored that the project Tohoku has been published in the volume Chromantic by Exhibit Around / dotART association
On March 11th 2011, Japan stops. The great tsunami that hit Tōhoku coast is an indelible memory. Since then, in these places, many volunteers have plumbed and removed mountains of debris. The many objects found have been cleaned and cataloged in hopes they will return one day to their owners. Other than that, geometries and patterns of interior residential floors have gradually re-emerged.
These images are 'scans' of what remain of Ōtsuchi, a little town of the Tohoku coast, one year after the great tsunami of 2011.
Many thanks to the Caritas Japan, to the professor Ikuo Kobayashi and to Exhibit Around / dotART cultural association.
